I found Gabrielle on the Internet and bought her "sight unseen" – fell in love with her being a "big, steady horse with sense, and the ability to do both Dressage and Jumpers." Gabby had lived her entire life outside in Virginia, and was only in a stall twice before I got her. So needless to say, she NEVER had a blanket, except the one God provided.
I first tried ALL of my blankets from my old mare on her (size 84/86), but NONE of them even covered her butt, then I had a "special order" from a local tack store (size 86). It was SO tight, her shoulders could not move, it was TOO short at the belly and her butt, was once again... exposed!!
I then tried a friend's blanket from her giant Belgium and that fit, ok, it covered her butt... BUT it was super long in the belly and still the shoulders were too tight. I was dismayed to say the least.
Then my girlfriend told me about "Hugs," and she said they will get you a blanket that is perfect for this girl and you will love the quality.
I contacted your e-mail, got the "proper measuring instructions" and with tape measure in hand, I headed out to measure my baby.

Spoke with a great person on the phone, placed my order and waited and – TA-DAAA – a beautiful PERFECT fitting blanket arrived within a week. No tight shoulders, no long belly and NO EXPOSED BUTT!) Yeah!!
ALL at the barn were impressed with the quality, and how great Gabby looked in her new duds.
Thank you so much for a wonderful product. Everything, from start to finish was handled REALLY well. I am hopeful to be purchasing a new cooler and sheet in the spring...
From both me and Gabrielle... thanks!!!

Giotto measures: |
Our size
82 fits: |
Neck Size |
57 1/2" |
54"-60" (XLarge) |
Back Length |
52" |
56" |
Drop |
35-36" |
37" |
|

Comments: Giotto is wearing a size 82 Fly Sheet which we referred to as a 'muscle shirt' in his case. The neck is fully let out. The size 82 may be a little long, but that should be fine for muscle shirts.

The Problem: Here's "Pony" a 26-year-old pony who lives in California. Her owner wrote us because she has had a "terrible time" trying to fit a sheet because the ones that she ordered using traditional sizing would not let the pony reach comfortably to the ground to eat.
When she first gave us the measurements, we were a little worried that our measuring guide was not very clear. But upon receiving a jpeg photo, the owner helped us see that the measurements were probably correct.
We met the challenge and developed the "plan" below:
|

The Result: Because the XLarge neck extended the front of the pattern forward, we were not sure if the blanket might run too long in spite of the exact back measurement. We made up the blanket, shipped it to California and waited to hear!
What we got back was the photo of "Pony," shown above in her personal Hug!
Her owner said...."It fits great! I really do love the way that the turn out fits Pony.
We think she looks great in it too!
