Hug Blankets

Research

The development of the Hug Closure began as a desire to produce a blanket which "adjusted" for a better fit. While measuring horses to determine what exactly made a better fit (particularly in the neckline), we learned some very interesting things.

Probably the most significant piece of news (to us at least) was the range of expansion of the neck when a horse lowers his head. As horse owners showed us their "difficult-to-fit" horses, we discovered that this range was usually quite extreme.

While this problem is solved with the Hug Closure System, other issues came to light as we tried to develop an entire blanket size run, i.e., horses sizes do not increase by any scale, although blanket sizes do. More questions for us... and you?

Measuring

We'd very much appreciate your help in gathering more information. And while we know filling out forms is time-consuming, we also know that the results will be both interesting and helpful in the production of better fitting products.

If you want to help, please fill out the form below. Use the diagram to the left as your guide. It indicates the measurements you'll need to take by letter.

And again, thanks for your help.
